1. Why ipextra.com?
We created ipextra.com as a fun mash-up
project to play around with Google
Maps (because it's cool) and Yahoo!
Local (because it's useful). At the time Google
Local didn't have a decent API
or we probably would have used it.
2. How we (try to) find your location:
We use a service provided by HostIP.info ( http://www.hostip.info
) We use their service mostly because it's free but it works pretty well too.
They have a few different APIs
to work with.
